Market-Visio Research: Mobile Environment Costs Puzzle Corporations
A recent Market-Visio research in Finland states that corporations are somewhat clueless when it comes to mobile environment costs. To make it short and sweet:
- Almost 80% of workers use a mobile as their only mean to communicate telephonically;
- Nearly 70% of companies use the possibility to send emails to smart phones etc. mobile devices;
- 2/ 3 companies admits they have not estimated accurately administrative expenses generated by smart phones, laptops and other mobile devices;
- Most companies agree that mobility makes IT more efficient. Yet there are significant doubts regarding technical level of solutions and service providers.
- The largest obstacle when making decisions about future mobile solutions is ignorance;
The results are kind of amazing, since most IT departments I know work these days under relatively strict budgets management when it comes to traditional hw and maintenance expenses. So the question is – why? I can’t figure out anything else that mobile environments development is moving too fast.
As a side note, another interesting news related mobile environment costs was that Nokia yesterday announced that the average price of sold mobiles had increased from 99 euros (120 US dollars) to 103 euros (125 US dollars) (and as expected, the Nokia share went up the roof).
