Australia joins 3G supernations

When things happen in down under, they happen big time. Telstra’s Next G HSDPA 3G wireless network is huge in all terms:

  • AUS$1 billion budget;
  • Next G provides highband mobile internet access for 98% Australian citizens;
  • The new 3G network is 100 times bigger than any other 3GSM network on the Australian continent;
  • and it is 5 times faster than existing networks.

Now that’s what I call solving technical bottlenecks… I just wish my broadband operator would do something similar.
